Hey all, just a quick summary of an hour and a half of birding this AM at
Nisqually in Thurston Co.

1 EUR. WIGEON

Only a handful of Pintails left

My first pair of WOOD DUCKS this spring at the refuge

A pair of Common Mergansers in the pond behind the headquarters

Some remaining R/N Ducks

1 Red-tailed Hawk that had a white chin. I'll have to look it up at home,
but it could have been an eastern Red-tail. It was very white with minimal
dark bars in the tail viewed from below.

4 Downy Woodpeckers doing some interesting displays (2 males lunging at each
other, 2 females posturing with fanned tails and head raised)

Tree Swallows claiming the nest boxes.

Only 3 V/Green Swallows this morning, a lot less than last week.

1 Fox Sparrow singing

W. Meadowlarks singing

The Salmonberry is starting to bloom, and Red Elderberry is leafing out.
Also noted that the B/L Maple is budding.
