This is the Vancouver Natural History Society's Rare Bird Alert for Sunday,
March 23rd, sponsored in part by Wild Birds Unlimited, with stores in
Vancouver and North Vancouver.
Featured birds are GRAY-CROWNED ROSY FINCH and a STILT SANDPIPER
Sightings for March 23rd
Along the Serpentine River at Serpentine Fen in Surrey was a probable STILT
SANDPIPER. Further confirmation is desired.
At Elgin Heritage Park in South Surrey was a Eurasian GREEN-WINGED TEAL.
Over Mount Seymour Parkway in North Vancouver was a TURKEY VULTURE.
In a late report for March 22nd, there were 2 GRAY-CROWNED ROSY FINCHES near
the pump-house on the Iona South Jetty. Also seen here were 2 EURASIAN
GREEN-WINGED TEALS.
Sightings for March 22nd
At Elgin Heritage Park in South Surrey were 3 Eurasian GREEN-WINGED TEALS.
In Delta, near Highway 17 and 52nd Avenue was an AMERICAN KESTREL.
There were no reports for March 21st
Sightings for March 20th
At Terra Nova in Richmond were one LONG-EARED OWL and a GREATER
WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE, which was seen in a flock of SNOW GEESE.
In the Ranch Park area of Coquitlam was a BAND-TAILED PIGEON.
