Rolan and Tweets

This kind of activity with a crow energetically chasing a Killdeer is
not that uncommon during spring. I have seen it several times in a
variety of locations. Once I watched such an encounter take place at the
Montlake Fill near the shoveler pond. The Killdeer would land near the
edge of the pond and almost immediately a crow would begin dive-bombing
the Killdeer, which would take off and be pursued by the crow. This
involved much twisting and turning with the crow in very close pursuit.
Eventually, the Killdeer would land again and almost immediately be
chased by the crow. This went on for about seven minutes until the
Killdeer left for another part of the fill.
