Birders,

Hank Vanderpol reported a single SNOW BUNTING at the Head of the Lake, near
Vernon, this morning. We went up to look for it and I was successful in
finding the bird. It was feeding on a sand bar, then startled by my
presence, it flew into a willow and preened for a bit. It appeared to be a
winter male. No Eurasian Wigeon there, another bird I was looking for, but
the three DUNLIN were still feeding on the shoreline.

Wouldn't you know it, on the way home I had a flock of 70 SNOW BUNTINGS
flying over head on the Vernon Commonage at the Predator Ridge Golf Course.
I believe this is the biggest flock I've heard of in the valley for many
years.
