There is a sizeable flock of American Widgeons that can easily be found
every day along the East shore, usually close to NE 65th Street. If they
on not on the lawn alongside the path, they will almost certainly be
swimming very close to the shore.Most often there will be three Eurasian
males in this group; look for them at one end or the other of the group.
There have been four males in this group on a few occasions, and twice
there were two males in one part of the group and three nearby in
another, for a total of five.

There are occasionally much smaller groups of widgeons in or near the NW
corner of the lake, but we have yet to see a Eurasian there.

BTW, this week marks the first sightings of the resident turtles on the
tethered log along the Aurora side of the lake.
