A few weeks ago at the mouth of Chambers Creek in Steilacoom I saw all
three Merganzers from one spot, but alas, I had to rotate the scope to do
it. Couldn't get them to crowd together!

Hi Gary . . .

I guess this is my call since I brought it up, recently anyway . . . so
I'd
definitely say bino views are fair game.

I think most would agree in the interest of variety and opportunity to
share
intriguing combinations.

Dear Tweeters,

Do binocular views count (instead of the narrower scope view)?

How about subspecies?

One time at Fir Island there were three Northern Flickers. The one on
the
left was a Red-shafted. The one on the right was a Yellow-shafted. The
one
in the middle? An intergrade! Each was perched in his own little tree,
all
in a str! aight line. Couldn't get them all in the scope at the same
time,
though.

Yours truly,
