Subject: Clover Point Birding & more gull photos

Greetings,

After a long spell of dullness, Clover Point was a bit more lively this
morning. I was there at 7:30 a.m., an hour or two earlier than usual.

Black Oystercatchers and Harlequin Ducks were very active, and five and a
half species of gulls were on the rocks. I was able to obtain photos of
them all, some of which are posted at

One photo is of a Thayer's Gull and Herring Gull side by side for a nice
comparison of size and shape. On the California Gulls present, there was
quite a bit of variation in leg and bill color.
