I went to purchase one and was astonished at the personal information
requested for the permit. SS#? Height? Eye color?

Could someone comment on why this much information is required for this
permit? I'd like to know before I decide to provide it or not. Seems a
bit much. There's nothing about it on th webpage (or at least, nothing
that *I* could find!)
