This morning I drove to work and parked in the Kingdome North Lot, and had
three House Finches singing back and forth to/at each other, that was really
neat. It's so great to hear birds again on the way to work in the morning,
just puts you/me in a (more) decent mood to start the day off. The other
way cool thing in the parking lot was a crow w/nesting material in its beak,
which eventually took off and flew into the football stadium. Am glad my
good bins were with me, else it would've been impossible to figure out where
the bird had gone.

Went out to the Fill after work tonite, had about 40 min to bird, was hoping
for the/my first White-crowned Sparrows of the spring, especially after
yesterday's (?) report of the birds near the U-Dub. There was a nice little
buncha WCSP in a bush off Wahkiakum Lane singing their little hearts out.
Ahhhh, yessss. Thank you Mother Nature!

The crows were amazing, I'd never been at the Fill when they were staging in
the trees, unbelievable racket. It was really cool to see them finally lift
off and head toward Foster Island, an enormous, swirling crowd of crows.

Gotta love the Fill!

Good birding,
Mary
