Wanted to comment on a few sightings this morning.
Detected the first singing BREWER'S SPARROW of the season this morning
off the vantage Hwy.
Had a rough-legged hawk still hanging around near Beacon Ridge Rd on the
vantage hwy.
The best birds were down Huntzinger Rd. Many swallows with a few CLIFF
SWALLOWS in them south of the dam. Only a few loons present, and
couldn't find the Yellow-billed or Red-throated Loon. This was actually
the first time I've missed the YBLO out of about 15 tries, will keep
ckecking to see if it resurfaces.
However while not finding it, did find a GREAT EGRET, a good bird for
that area, though they do occassionally pop up. Finished off the day by
checking the Bar-14 pond near I-90 in ellensburg. Nothing special though
many Ring-billed and California Gulls present, a clear sign that spring
is finally here.
