I believed the report of the first siting -- a week ago? -- but now I
REALLY believe. I was eyeball to eyeball with a shiny male Rufous
Hummingbird at the feeder this morning. I replaced the nectar I put out
last weekend with some fresh, slightly warmed stuff (just the
refrigerator chill taken off) and he sat and drank a LONG time. If
anyone ever needed a hot toddy!

I know April 1 is a typical date for us, but it seems way too early. I
still haven't seen a blueberry bush fully in bloom, let alone
salmonberry!
