Cascadia Hummingbird Report - 03/31/2003

There was a second report from Ketchikan, AK this week also earlier
than the average. There was also a report from Zigzag, OR at 1425ft
in the Oregon north Cascades. The warm weather of recent days should
signal the all clear for the eastward push.

And to answer the question: How many ways can we show they're early?

In flower news, the open sun Salmonberry (_Rubus spectabilis_) at
the Columbia River monitoring site is no more than a week away from
peaking. Closed canopy sites are at least 2 weeks away. Flowering
reports from British Columbia are mixed and very much depend on sun
aspect. There are no significant flower blooms in Alaska according
to reports from Ketchikan.
