Sunday, April 27, 5:38 PM. Steve Dane 206-368-6827. Today at Ocean Shores I
had a GREAT EGRET. The bird was seen from the Tonquin Avenue access to the
Game Range.

Sunday, April 27, 8:40 PM. Hi, this is Steven Mlodinow. Today Dennis Duffy &
I birded from Stanwood up through Fir Island over to Whidbey Island. We had a
PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVER, probably an adult male, near Silvana. Go north on the
Pioneer Highway, from Silvana to Norman Road. Go west on Norman Road to
Stubbs Road. Go north on Stubbs Road. The plowed field on the right had a
number of shorebirds including some WHIMBREL and the PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVER.
On the road from Stanwood to Conway, near Milltown, we had a young TUNDRA
SWAN. We had a LONG-BILLED CURLEW near La Conner, at the corner of Best and
Chillberg Roads. Near Stanwood we also had a COMMON TEAL and a hybrid
COMMON-GREEN WINGED TEAL. And we had a bunch of YELLOWLEGS at the Stanwood
Sewage Ponds. That's it. Good luck and good birding.

Monday, April 28, 2:00 PM. Hello, my name is Ron Pappas. I work for Oregon
Coast National Wildlife Refuge. I was up here for an extended weekend. On the
27th we found a SANDHILL CRANE at the Lewis Unit of the Willapa Refuge in
Pacific County. It was circling and calling around the unit there. Then
today, the 28th, we had a GOSHAWK, out at Leadbetter Point, not far from the
north parking lot. Thank you.

Wednesday, April 30, 9:51 AM. Paul Hicks here. Area code 360- 264-2462, with
a report for Monday the 28th. At the Hoquiam Sewage Ponds there was a RED
HEAD DUCK that a number of people were seeing. At the east end of the runway
there was a immature PEREGRINE FALCON.

Wednesday, April 30, 10:24 AM. My name is Marilyn Burk, 503-228-0598. We have
just seen a CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPUR, and it is, it was off Midway Beach
Road. We drove to the end of the road and went north approximately a quarter
of a mile and we had one male CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPUR, feeding in the very
dry straw like, with SAVANNAH SPARROWS and HORNED LARKS. There is a stick
with a white messy bag tied to it that marks the northern limit of where this
bird was feeding. Thank you.

Wednesday, April 30, 5:25 PM. My name is Marilyn Burk. I left a message
earlier reporting a CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPUR. I'm embarrassed to have to
amend that. It was not a CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPUR, it was a LAPLAND
LONGSPUR and the direct coordinates on it are the same. Thank you.
