Went to the Fill this AM to try to find the Solitary Sandpipers
previously reported; I found one, in Shoveler Pond, as well as a
pair of Cinnamon Teals. In the main pond was a male Blue-winged,
for a Teal Trifecta, with the still-present Green-wings.The big pond
also had a probable Least Sandpiper (just got a glimpse). There were
at least 8-9 Killdeer present and very vocal. Possibly my best
sighting was a male Yellow-headed Blackbird which called in the
top of a shrub for a minute and then disappeared. Possibly, because
the fine breeding plumages of the teals and other ducks were a real
treat. The lone male Ruddy Duck in particular was brilliant. His
bill was so bright it looked painted on!
