Walked the loop this morning under cloudy skies with fairly constant rain.
Despite the weather the birding was enjoyable. Highlights include:

2 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE (near the barns)
1 BRANT (seems the be the lone member left of the large flock found here
earlier)
1 EURASIAN WIGEON (male) with large American Wigeon flock seen from the
tower
2 BLUE-WINGED TEAL (males) near the jct of the cross dike trail and
McAllister creek
8 CINNAMON TEAL (6 males, 2 females)
11 HOODED MERGANSER (last Friday saw 1 female with 9 young in a pond behind
maintenance yard)
4 SORA (all heard)
2 WHIMBREL
1 GREATER YELLOWLEGS
70 WESTERN SANDPIPER
43 LEAST SANDPIPER (most in the pond just west of parking lot)
63 DUNLIN
52 BONAPARTE'S GULL (most in alternate plumage- striking!!)
1 MOURNING DOVE (along McAllister creek)
4 VAUX'S SWIFT
2 PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER
2 WARBLING VIREO
Many Swallows including 5 NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS, TREES,
VIOLET-GREENS, CLIFFS, BARNS, and 15 PURPLE MARTINS (Luhr Beach dock area)
11 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER
8 YELLOW WARBLER
96 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER (mostly Audubon's 2:1 ratio with Myrtle)
49 COMMON YELLOWTHROAT
11 WILSON'S WARBLER
1 WESTERN TANAGER
2 LINCOLN'S SPARROW
