A four daytrip to the Puyallup area left little time for birding. However,
we were able to make a few stops coming, going, and while there and managed
to find a few highlights.

A quick side trip to Salmo le Sac Campground in Kittitas County to view
camping possibilities was fairly uneventful. a single Townsend's Warbler
among a small flock of Dark-eyed Juncos was found among the remaining snow
drifts.

An early morning trip to Wildwood Park in Puyallup produced 2 Wilson's
Warbler, 3 Hermit Thrush, 1 Lincoln's Sparrow, & 1 Rufous Hummingbird along
with many of the standard fair.

Another short trip to Wildwood Park produced a very cooperative Barred Owl
which posed well for photos.

On our way home probably the best county bird of the trip was seen along
I-90 approximately 12 miles east of North Bend. A lone WILD TURKEY was noted
along the freeway right of way. We wonder if the WDFW has planted turkey in
this area or if they have migrated to the area naturally. If any one has
information concerning this we would appreciate it.
A final stop at the Ginko State Park Interpretive Center and Wanapum State
Park Campground produced 1 -Nashville Warbler, 1 Turkey Vulture, several
Orange-crowned Warbler, 100+ Yellow-rumped Warblers (Audubon's & Myrtle's
mixed about 9 to 1), 1 Western Kingbird, and 1 Empid Flycatcher identity
uncertain.
