Hi Tweeters, Thankyou for all the great info on this owl book by Hume,
several have this book and enjoy it thoroughly.
On going to Aruba; I was only able to bird one afternoon when it was about
100 outside, and very few birds were present. Did get things like Bananaquit
(everywhere), Brown throated Parakeet, Frigate Birds (everywhere), Striated
Bittern, Tricolored Heron (Mark loved this one the most!) Carib Grackle,
Caribbean Coot, several dove species, White Cheeked Pintail, and lots of
Ruddy Turnstones.
We went snorkling, and I was able to get a picture of Brown Boobys within
a couple of feet.
The 18th I will be going to Maui for 10 days. My son is still working in the
wildlife rescue, and also at one with primates, which I probably won't be
allowed to go into.
Take care all and IF I find any native birds, I will let you know, but I
will be in the water ALOT!!!
