Hi Tweeters,

With all of Dennis Paulson's Twitcher's postings from Australia, I
thought you might enjoy this puzzle from our Aussie twitcher friend
from Maroochydore.
First prize is a virtual trip to Clyde's deck where observing Aussie
birds is an unbelievable experience. I will post the correct answer
next week.

Birder's Logic Problem

Five birders are standing in a line looking over a wetland in
Queensland. From the following, determine where each birder comes from,
what binoculars they are using, what field guide they are using, what
bird they are looking at and what telescope they are using.

1. The birder from England has Zeiss binoculars.
2. The Australian birder is looking at a Crake.
3. The birder with the Leica binoculars also has a Leica telescope.
4. The American Birder has a Bushnell telescope.
5. The birder with the Leica binoculars is standing to the right of the
birder with the Bausch and Lomb binoculars.
6. The birder using the Pizzey and Knight field guide is looking at a
Sandpiper.
7. The birder using the Slater field guide is using Tasco binoculars.
8. The birder in the middle is using a Kowa telescope.
9. The French birder is on the left.
10. The birder using the Hayman guide is standing next to the birder who
is looking at the Long-toed Stint.
11. The birder with the Slater field guide is standing next to the
birder looking at the Variegated Fairywren.
12. The birder using the Simpson & Day field guide is using a Swarovski
telescope.
13. The Dutch birder is not using a field guide.
14. The French birder is next to the birder using the Swarovski
binoculars.
15. An Asiatic Dowitcher is being observed.
16. A Nikon telescope is being used.
