Hey Tweeters,

Yesterday evening (5/6) at the 96th Street mitigation site in
Alderton, I counted up to five Solitary Sandpipers foraging among the
various plantings. This was the most I've ever seen in Washington during
the spring. Also present were about 35 Leasts, six Westerns, and two
Lesser Yellowlegs. About a mile to the north along 92nd Street,
Carol Schulz and I had a pair of Cinnamon Teal and a male Bullock's
Oriole.

Today, after doing the Marymoor Park big day (where the highlight was a
Nashville Warbler), we stopped to view the fields north of 185th Street
in the Auburn area where Jim Flynn found a Pectoral Sandpiper
yesterday. There were actually two Pecs there today, as well as just
one each of Least and Western. Maybe we have a repeat of last year,
when quite a few Pectorals were seen about this time.

Cheers and good birding,
--
