Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

A MANX/BLACK-VENTED SHEARWATER was off Lincoln city May 2. On May 1 a
ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK visited a feeder near Waldport.

Heavy migrations continued during the week with early SWAINSON?S THRUSHES
arriving and several western Oregon CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRDS. Good numbers of
SOLITARY SANDPIPERS continue to be reported with five along 185th. Avenue
off Marine Drive in northeast Portland.

A PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was in Coos and Curry Counties May 5. On May 4 a
WANDERING TATTLER and two RUDDY TURNSTONES were on the North Spit of Coos
Bay. A LARK SPARROW was at Cutler City May 3. On May 4, 1500 RHINOCEROS
AUKLETS flew south off Boiler Bay. That day two RED KNOTS and two RUDDY
TURNSTONES were on the Bayocean Shorebird Flats at Tillamook Bay.

The wintering geese are now gone from the Willamette Valley and the Sauvie
Island/Ridgefield NWR area. A few CRANES are still being seen on Sauvie
Island. On May 4 a CLARK?S GREBE was at the mouth of the Sandy River near
Troutdale. On May 3 a BARRED OWL was at Mt. Tabor Park in Portland.

On May 3 two pairs of REDHEADS and a pair of BLUE-WINGED TEAL were on the
Dayton Sewage Ponds. A pair of BLUE-WINGED TEAL and a BLACK PHOEBE were at
Ankeny NWR May 4. A LONG-BILLED CURLEW was north of Halsey May 5. On May 2 a
SWAINSON?S HAWK was at Eugene. A LARK SPARROW was in Eugene May 4.

A SNOWY PLOVER was at the Kirtland Road Sewage Ponds in White City May 4. A
BAIRD?S SANDPIPER was near LaGrande May 2.
