Sightings for May 11

The GREAT EGRET was again at Acland Pond, in Kelowna (CC). From Hwy 97, N.
of the Sexsmith Rd intersection, turn E. on Edwards Road. Turn left on
Acland Road and watch for the pond behind the construction site on the E.
side of the road. Please bird from the road.

Two SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS were on the turf fields immediately N. of Acland
Pond (CC).

At Robert Lake, in Kelowna, was a BAIRD'S SANDPIPER, 3 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS,
a LEAST SANDPIPER, a SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER, 2 SPOTTED SANDPIPERS, a
WILSON'S PHALAROPE and 5 KILLDEER (CC).

Ten BONAPARTE'S GULLS were on the pond at the entrance to the Kelowna
Landfill, on Glenmore Road (CC).


Sightings for May 9

The GREAT EGRET continues at Acland Pond in Kelowna (CC,CS).

On Bulman Road, a short distance N. of Acland Road, a flooded field
contained a PECTORAL SANDPIPER, a LEAST SANDPIPER, 2 SOLITARY SANDPIPERS and
2 KILLDEER (CC).


Sightings for May 8

The GREAT EGRET continues at Acland Pond in Kelowna (CC,MF,HV).

At Robert Lake in Kelowna, there was a SEMIPALMATED PLOVER (HV). On May 7,
the season's first WILSON'S PHALAROPE was seen there (LR).

The male GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was reported at Scandia Golf and Games, along
Hwy 97, in N. Kelowna (MF).

Along Mission Ck, at the Casorso Road bridge, a male YELLOW WARBLER was
singing (CC).
