Hi Tweeters,

I dropped by Montlake Fill in Seattle yesterday, just before sunset. Lots of bugs and lots of swallows eating them. Many were Barns, with some Cliff, Tree (adults and immatures), Rough-winged, Violet-green, and great looks at a single Bank Swallow. It was feeding both over the edge of Lake Washington and over the adjacent ponds and fields.

Also, a question. A Heerman's Gull flew by me at the Ocean Shores Jetty on Sunday, May 11. Is Heerman's regular in the first half of May?

Good birding,
Jeremy Nance
