Dear Tweeters,

Yesterday the first Swainson's Thrushes finally showed up on Cockreham Island (Skagit County). They were giving "whit" calls and their wheezy-sneezy call, but not singing.

In our area between Lyman and Hamilton we have had Black-headed Grosbeaks for a few days. Also, earlier in the week, there was a Western Wood-pewee and a Western Kingbird at our place near Lyman. We saw the kingbird in the evening; one the following morning was probably the same bird. Now it seems to have moved on, but sometimes they do stay and breed on Cockreham Island. In Sedro-Woolley's little Bingham Park on Wednesday were a male Bullock's Oriole, three Western Tanagers, and a Wilson's Warbler.
