I too searched for the reported Scissor-tailed Flycatcher yesterday. No
scissor-tail was found in 3 hours of searching (most roads were covered in a
1 - 2-mile square around the original sighting area). I must have missed him
as he was seen and reported again yesterday (5/17) and so the search
continues.
After searching for the STFL I returned to the Moses Lake area, stopping at
the Dodson Rest Stop Sewage Pond, and on a whim, pulling into the Moses Lake
Community Park (the old Moses Lake State Park). It was evident that the
migration is progressing well by the number and variety of birds seen.

The following highlights were noted.

Dodson Rest Stop Sewage Lagoon

Spotted Sandpiper - 2
Wilson's Phalarope - 1
Blue-winged Teal - 2
Cinnamon Teal - 3
Great Egret - 1
Northern Shoveler - 4
Northern Rough-winged Swallow - 2

Moses Lake Community Park

Western Tanager - 1
Redhead - 4 in park pond
Tree Swallow - several working the ponds area
Northern Rough-winged Swallow - 2 nesting in bank near boat launch
Hammond's Flycatcher - 1
Pacific-slope Flycatcher - 1
Cassin's Vireo - 1
Cedar Waxwing - 8
Yellow Warbler - 2
Yellow-rumped Warbler (Audubon's) - 2
Wilson's Warbler - 2
Townsend's Warbler - 1

Another Note of interest. There are close to 100 Western and Clarke's
Grebes (mixed flock, mostly Westerns) using the northern most Moses Lake
Spillway. These birds are allowing very close approach and study. Also great
photo opportunities.
