Still quite a few shorebirds around. Numbers were relatively low - only
around 700-800 but the quality was awesome:

400+ red knot
1 american golden plover in almost complete breeding plumage - probably
the most stunning shorebird I have ever seen.
100-150 short-billed dowitchers
40+ black-bellied plover
10+ semi-palmated plover
8 whimbrel
1 marbled godwit
100+ dunlin
1 possible semi-palmated sandpiper
<10 western sandpipers

Across the road at Ocosta 3rd:

20+ red-necked phalaropes
1 greater yellowlegs
1 sora
50+ western sandpipers

The knot were fat. I got a rather good photo of one bird which has a
huge 'spare tire' around it's neck and a large pot-belly to match. I
thought that these birds would head to the Copper River delta but I
suppose it is possible that they would make the next jump direct to
their breeding grounds in NW Alaska.
