Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday May 22. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On May 18 a MOURNING WARBLER was at the ?P? Ranch at Malheur NWR. That day
an OVENBIRD was at Fields. On May 14 a LITTLE GULL was at the Nehalem Sewage
Ponds. A MANX SHEARWATER was one mile west of Newport May 20. A LAYSAN
ALBATROSS, a SOUTH POLAR SKUA, and all three jaegers were seen on the trip.

The migrations are slowing but YELLOW WARBLERS, RED-NECKED PHALAROPES, and
WESTERN TANAGERS were conspicuous during the week. CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRDS are
still being seen in the Willamette Valley.

On May 18 fifteen BLACK SWIFTS were at New River, south of Bandon. On May 14
an AVOCET and two YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS were at the North Spit of Coos
Bay. On May 16 seven WILLETS were at Tenmile Estuary north of Coos Bay. One
was at Tillamook Bay May 20. An ARCTIC TERN was at Yaquina Bay May 18.

A SAGE THRASHER was at the Sandy River Delta near Troutdale May 18. A CHAT
was there May 20. A possible WRENTIT was at the Crystal Springs rhododendron
Gardens in southeast Portland May 17. A CLARK?S GREBE has been at the
Fernhill Wetlands during the week.

A pair of REDHEADS and many YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS are now at the
breidwell Road marsh near Amity. On May 15 a BANK SWALLOW was at the Dayton
Sewage Ponds. On May 18 four TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS were near Ankeny NWR. A
LARK SPARROW was at Finley NWR May 18. A WHITE PELICAN and 15 REDHEADS are
now at Fern Ridge Reservoir. On May 16 a WILLET and three BANK SWALLOWS were
there.

On May 18 Six ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHERS were at Rowena Dell Near the Tom
McCall Preserve in the Columbia gorge.
