RARE BIRD ALERT! for a BREWER'S SPARROW and 2 TENNESEE WARBLERS!

Sightings for Sunday, May 25th

RARE BIRD ALERT! An adult BREWER'S SPARROW of the TIMBERLINE race was seen
and photographed at BURNABY MOUNTAIN PARK below the Horizon's Restaurant
underneath a large Beech Tree.

RARE BIRD ALERT! The adult singing male TENNESEE WARBLER was again seen in
trees near the Golf Course Washrooms on the southwest side of Queen
Elizabeth Park in Vancouver.

RARE BIRD ALERT! An adult male TENNESSE WARBLER was seen and heard at the
corner of Canada Way and Royal Oak in Burnaby.

Along the Grant Narrows Dyke Trail in Pitt Meadows the following species
were reported: 1 WILLOW FLYCATCHER, 2 EASTERN KINGBIRDS, 1 YELLOW-HEADED
BLACKBIRD and just past the wooden bridge a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW.

There were a pair of WESTERN KINGBIRDS seen along the Airport Fence along
Ferguson Rd on Sea Island.

Near the McCleery Golf Course in Vancouver were 2 GREEN HERONS.

Sightings for Saturday, May 24th

RARE BIRD ALERT! A male TENNESSE WARBLER was observed in the morning on the
southwest side of Queen Elizabeth Park near the Golf Course Washrooms.
Other highlights amongst the hoards of migrant passerines were 2 CHIPPING
SPARROWS.

In Pitt Meadows the GREAT EGRET was again reported. Look for the bird along
the shoreline from the dyke near the first large bend along Rannie Road.

At the Reifel Refuge 3 WESTERN KINGBIRDS were reported from the foreshore
along the West Dyke Trail. Also at the refuge was 1 male EURASIAN WIGEON, a
family of SANDHILL CRANES, 1 BRANT, 20 SNOW GEESE, 1 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED
GOOSE, 20 BONAPARTE'S GULLS, 3 AMERICAN BITTERNS and many migrant
passerines.

A flock of 6 SANDHILL CRANES were reported from Highway 10 and 112th St. in
Delta.

At the Iona Island Sewage Ponds were 1 WILSON'S PHALAROPE, 1 BANK SWALLOW
and nearby on the Sea Island side of the Causeway were 2 WESTERN KINGBIRDS.

At Burnaby Lake was 1 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE and 1 GREEN HERON.
