Dave Beaudette reports a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW singing in Douglas Co WA on 21
May. The bird was in sagebrush on the sides of a grassy draw on the east
side of D NW, 0.1 mile south of the intersection of D NW and 18 NW. Road D
NW can be reached by taking McNeil Cyn Road west from WA 172. WA DeLorme 84,
B-2.
A male LESSER GOLDFINCH was seen along Lower Ford's Creek in Orofino,
Clearwater Co ID on 24 May according to Carole Vande Voorde. Lower Ford's
Creek follows the Clearwater River upriver from town. ID DeLorme 55, A-5.
On 25 May at Mann Lake, Nez Perce Co ID, Christine and Terry Gray report 6
FRANKLIN'S GULLS, 2 CASPIAN TERNS, and 2 COMMON TERNS. From the north end of
Lewiston, follow US 12 south into town, cross the Clearwater River on
Memorial Bridge and immediately take the first left (east) toward East
Lewiston. Turn left (east) onto East Main Street and go about a half mile
to the flashing yellow lights. Turn right (south) onto Lapwai (a.k.a.
Lindsay Creek) Road. When the road forks stay right on Lindsay Creek Road
(Nez Perce County Road 460) and follow it about 5 miles to its terminus at
Grelle Avenue. Turn left (east) onto Grelle Avenue and just past the sharp
right curve, turn left (east) onto East Powers Avenue (a.k.a. Lapwai Road).
Continue straight (east) past the grain towers to the main parking lot. ID

A BAND-TAILED PIGEON visited my yard 5 miles south of Moscow, Latah Co ID on
25 May. It seems to have only stayed that day.
Lisa Hardy reports a lone CLARK'S GREBE on 26 May at the Page Ponds,
Shoshone Co, ID. ID DeLorme 60, B-3.
