Hello Tweeters, I spent this past holiday weekend at my family's cabin on
Lake Hancock in King county. The lake is located north of North Bend at
about 2000 feet in elevation. I birded in the area right around our cabin
and took a tour of the whole lake by boat. I missed a few species due to
not being able to see them up in the canopy of the conifers. Here are the
18 species that I was able to see:

Common Loon - 2 feeding on the lake
Mallard - 5 drakes and one hen
Common Merganser - one in river on road back to North Bend
Osprey - 2 adults
Bald Eagle - flew over
Spotted Sandpiper - 2 along the shore of the lake
Band-tailed Pigeon - 2 roosting in a snag
Hairy Woodpecker
Northen Flicker
Steller's Jay - several around the cabins
Crow
Tree Swallow
Chesnut-backed Chickadee
Winter Wren - heard then seen about five feet from me on a trail above cabin
American Dipper - running along the shore of the lake jumping from log to
log
American Robin
Song Sparrow
Dark-eyed Junco

Good birding,
