I received a report of an INDIGO BUNTING coming to a feeder near
Battleground from May 13 -May 16. The homeowner gave a good description
that eliminated other species including Blue Grosbeak or Lazuli Bunting.
On May 21, Chris Chappell, a D.N.R. researcher studying the
proposed "Washougal Oaks Natural Area" east of Washougal found a singing
male AMERICAN REDSTART.
These are both "first" sightings of these species for Clark
County. Unfortunately neither bird was on land open to the public.
