On May 16, Laurie Ness and Nancy LaFramboise were at Horn Rapids County
Park where there were a few warblers as well as a WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE and an
OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER.

Bill & Nancy LaFramboise returned to Horn Rapids Park on May 17 and found a
LEWIS'S WOODPECKER, an OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER, a MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER, a
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW, and a male CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD.

On May 18, Jim and Annet Dittmer were surprised to have a BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERON in their Kennewick yard.

Mary Lilga reported TREE SWALLOWS behind the Safeway along George
Washington Way in Richland on the late date of May 18.

In Two Rivers County Park on May 21, Nancy LaFramboise found a CASSIN'S
VIREO and a WARBLING VIREO, as well as a WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE. Later at the
Bateman Island Causeway there was an EARED GREBE, a CLARK'S GREBE, and 5
WESTERN GREBES. An EASTERN KINGBIRD was nearby.

Bill and Nancy LaFramboise found the following at the Paterson Slough Unit
of the Umatilla National Wildlife Refuge on May 24: 8 RED-NECKED and 5
WILSON'S PHALAROPES, 5 BONAPARTE'S GULLS, a BLACK TERN, 2 female
RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, as well a late COMMON GOLDENEYE.

On May 27, Laurie Ness had 2 PINE SISKINS at her feeder in her North
Richland yard.

Today, May 28, Nancy LaFramboise noted the return of GRAY CATBIRDS to their
traditional breeding area along DeMoss Road in Benton City.
