RARE BIRD ALERT! continues for GRASSHOPPER SPARROW.

The feature bird is HUDSONIAN GODWIT.

Sightings for Wednesday, May 28th

The RARE BIRD ALERT continues for the GRASSHOPPER SPARROW. It spent the
entire day along the beach 100-150m before the South Jetty base. Tonight it
was photographed.

A HUDSONIAN GODWIT was found on the evening hightide in the West Field at
the Reifel Refuge. Other birds of note from the Refuge included 21 SNOW
GEESE, 2 AMERICAN BITTERN and 1 male EURASIAN WIGEON.

At the corner of 176th St and the Fraser Highway was 1 WESTERN KINGBIRD.

Sightings for Tuesday, May 27th

RARE BIRD ALERT! An adult GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was found in the mid
afternoon at Iona Island. The bird was present on the beach in logs 100m
before the base of the South Jetty. It was watched till sunset. This is the
first sighting in Vancouver since 1979! Also from this location were 2 BANK
SWALLOWS, 1 DUNLIN, 12 WESTERN SANDPIPERS and 3 LEAST SANDPIPERS in the
Inner Ponds.

Along Ferguson Rd on Sea Island just past the Farm on the North Side of the
road were 2 WESTERN KINGBIRDS.

At Blackie Spit was an adult WESTERN GULL.
