"Kenai", Woodland Park Zoo's female gyrfalcon who flew off during a raptor flight demonstration program last Saturday, was located in Maple Valley, and was recaptured this morning. As I write this, she is on her way back to the zoo.
We attribute the discovery of her whereabouts to the news reports televised last night. Although we received many, many calls, most of which were vague, we did receive at least one very convincing sighting from Maple Valley and this report payed off. By the way, on a somewhat humorous note, phone messages that came in last night and this morning claimed sightings in such scattered locations as Clearview, Renton, Aberdeen, Raymond, Coupeville, Port Orchard, and several locations in Seattle. Thank you all for keeping your eyes open.
