Alan suggested I post a story in the PI today about the Woodland Park Zoo's
gyrfalcon. Unable to hunt on her own, this 9-year-old bird may fly right up to
people. She's been missing since Saturday, when she flew off during a flight
demonstration. Keepers lost the signal from her radio transmitter almost
immediately after she left. Occasionally zoo birds fly off during a program and
stay away for hours, or even overnight, but this bird has never been away that
