Subject: Cooper's Hawk over Seattle

At 3:10 pm, I was working out in the yard and heard the unmistakable kek kek
kek kek call of an accipiter. I looked up and saw a Cooper's Hawk rising on
a thermal above the house and watched it go up quite high and then take off
like a bullet toward the northwest. The most memorable part of the
experience was that it called again and again, still calling as it
disappeared in the distance.

I'm sure it was a male by its size and fairly sure it was a young bird
because the inner primaries were in molt.

A late migrant or just a bird moving around because it wasn't breeding?
