Ian, et. al.,

I checked ISIS and there are no pink-footed geese in North American collections who participate in ISIS (mostly zoos), and only about 40 in European collections. There are 59 bean geese in European collections and 7 in Japan. There are four Russian bean geese in a theme park in Ohio according to ISIS, but last year I tried to contact them and got no response. I suspect that these birds don't exist.
I have also put out a request to the Washington Game Bird Breeders listserv asking for any knowledge of private holdings. I left a voice mail message for a breeder in Langley, BC, who according to information from about five years ago held pink-footed geese. I haven't heard back from him yet.

HI ALL:
I sent copies of the Sullivan's e-mail with their website address to
various listservers including one in the UK asking about the
identification of the geese in question. All responses have come back
Pink-footed Geese! Now the question of origin comes into play! GREG
TOFFIC: Do you know anyone who keeps them in captivity around here?
