Tweets - I may have misidentified the sparrow at Marymoor today. Houston
Flores found a sparrow a bit further west in the snag row this afternoon,
and he identified it as an AMERICAN TREE SPARROW. I think it is quite
possible that this is the same bird I earlier identified as a CLAY-COLORED
SPARROW. I must admit that there are some features of the bird which fit
ATSP better than CCSP (namely, a bicolored bill and a central breast
spot). The ATSP I've seen in the past were much darker and more reddish
than today's bird (which was so pale my impression was closer to Snow
Bunting).

In any case, I took some photos today, and I will return tomorrow to try
to sort out the identification. The bird is a beauty and a new bird for
the park regardless of the specific ID.

Spizellas are so hard...

BTW, Houston also had 5 HORNED LARK at the nearby compost piles at
Marymoor this afternoon.
