Tweeters,
Some of the better sightings actually occurred around 8am, when a brief walk turned up the Peregrine Falcon (flyover from the south; spotted later on the power tower), a Bald Eagle being harassed by a Glaucous-winged Gull, and a harbor seal eating a salmon. However, there was a big change on the river between 8:15am and now: the gill nets are gone! The five sets of nets that were in view in the morning have all been taken up.

Birds seen during this period include the following:

Common Merganser (3)
Double-crested Cormorant (8)
Great Blue Heron
Ring-billed Gull
California Gull (2)
Glaucous-winged Gull (9)
Rock Pigeon (34)
Belted Kingfisher
American Crow (18)
Black-capped Chickadee (3)
Bushtit (1; just one!)
Bewick's Wren
European Starling (15)

May all your birds be identified,
