Jim Pruske, Sherry Thiel, and I were among the flock of birders looking
for the Pink Footed Geese without any luck. We also looked for a Ross'
Goose that was hanging out with the cackler geese at the Nisqually
Refuge first thing this morning, but could not locate it. The goose was
seen by 2 separate birders on friday. We did see the Hudsonian Godwit
buried amongst the Marbled Godwits. And we did see the Tropical
Kingbird. It was first seen at the end of 2nd St. We just missed it from
there, but we did see a Sharp Shinned Hawk hunting the area. The
Kingbird had then moved on to 3rd St. where it went into a residents
back yard. The owner was outside and allowed us to go back and watch the
bird for a while.
