Phil Pickering has been doing almost daily seawatches
from Boiler Bay on the central Oregon Coast. Today
he reported about 5000. I saw at least 30 from the
South Jetty of the Columbia River this morning. Phil
has also been seen higher than usual near shore numbers
of Buller's and Pink-footed Shearwaters.

I'm thinking of doing a dead bird walk tomorrow.

Folks who do COASST walks may want to chip in summaries
of their data. And keep an eye open for gadflies and
stray northern alcids....
