Hi Tweetsters,

At Nisqually NWR at 8:00 a.m. yesterday morning , two Ross's Geese were
readily seen from the northwest corner of the parking lot by our group of
eleven birders. The two were an adult and an immature, mixed in with
hundreds of Canada Geese (including many "Cackling"/minima forms) and at
least three Greater White-fronted Geese.
Two Pink-footed Geese were present in Hoquiam (between 11:40 a.m. and 12:15
p.m.) at the end of "K" St., in the large field beyond the railroad tracks.
They were mixed in with about twenty Canada Geese and often directly
foraging in the company of two Greater White-fronted Geese (an adult an
immature), nearly identical in size and overall coloration at a distance to
the Pink-foots. The composition of the geese gathered in the field changed
continually, with small groups coming and going, some apparently coming from
the direction of the tideflats as the tide rose. There were a number of
dog-walkers either in the field or along the perimeter, and the geese
shifted spots within the field but did not leave it while we were there.
There were hundreds of Canada Geese of several forms on the Boundary Bay
airport grass; no Snow Geese were seen at either "K" St. or the airport.

Good birding, Bob
