On November 8 we saw a Yellow-billed Loon approximately 1/2 mile northwest of Port Townsend. The bird was diving in 90 feet of water and was seen from our boat. The plumage was much darker than most field guides show, particularly in the face. The bill was a pale lemon-yellow and appeared quite massive.
