RARE BIRD ALERT for a BRAMBLING!

The featured bird is GYRFALCON.

Sightings for November 20th

RARE BIRD ALERT! A male BRAMBLING was found at 3pm today coming to a feeder
at the corner of Fairway Drive and Golf Drive in North Vancouver. The bird
was in the company of 8 DARK-EYED JUNCOS.

At the foot of 72nd Street in Boundary Bay was a dark morph immature
GYRFALCON.

A boat trip around Howe Sound produced 50 SURFBIRDS and 27 BLACK
OYSTERCATCHERS on a islet off Fisherman's Cove Marina and 16 MARBLED
MURRELETS.

Sightings for November 19th

A pair of BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were discovered in the woodlot at the south end
of the Sea Island Causeway. Later they flew off to Iona Island.

The long staying BLUE JAY was reported at 827 West 20th Street in North
Vancouver. This is only a few houses away from 850 West 19th Street where
the bird has been seen frequently for the past week.

A WESTERN MEADOWLARK was reported from Blackie Spit in White Rock.

2 SHORT-EARED OWLS were reported from the end of Francis Rd along the
Richmond West Dyke.
