Pt No Point and Foulweather Bluff are at the far north of the Kitsap
Peninsula. To get there from Seattle, take the Edmonds Kingston ferry
to Kingston and go NW. Directions, maps, bird occurences by month,
and bird ifo is included in the new A BIRDER'S GUIDE TO WASHINGTON
available at Flora and Fauna, 206-623-4727. WOS will also be selling
a few at reduced price at the Dec WOS meeting in Seattle, Dec 1,
20043, 7pm.
Here's more explanation about Pt No Pt from the new book:
Point No Point:
Take hwy 104 west from Kingston. In 2.5 miles turn right on Hansville
Rd. Drive north toward Hansville and in 7.3 miles turn right onto
Point No Point Rd to the lighthouse. Etc. Much detail about hiking
and viewing there.
Foulweather Bluff:
Go back to Hansville Rd. Continue into Hansville. From the Hansville
store continue 2.7 miles on Twin Spits Rd. At 2.7 miles from the
store, look for a group of mailboxes on the right (including number
3480) followed by a pullout and unmarked trailhead on the left. Park
here: This is the access point for the Nature Conservancy's
Foulweather Bluff Preserve. Follow the fairly short trail to the
water and the lagoon. More details in book.

| Rob,
|
| Many of us don't know where Point No Point or Foulweather bluff (or
am I the
| only one?). Could you please start your postings with a reference
to where
| the birds were seen in relation to the portion of the state it's in
and to a
| county or major city or major body of water or land form.
|
| Thank You
