Spent yesterday at Ridgefield NWR accompanied by my
friend Gene Stone. Went around twice.

Weather 32Deg all day, no change. Lightly snowing when
we first arrived (~9:30A) but quickly passed. Windy/Breezy
in spots. Overcast all day, darkening as we closed out the
day.

Birds Seen:

1,000 Canada Geese (at least that many)
350 Pintails
50 American Wigeons
50 Buffleheads
275 Mallards
300 American Coots
185 Northern Shovelers
35 Great Blue Herons
35 Northern Harriers
50 Trumpeter Swans
3 Sandhill Cranes
5 Golden-Crowned Sparrows
2 House Sparrows
1 Fox Sparrow
3 Pied Billed Grebes
35 Red-Tailed Hawks (many imm.)
5 Greater Scaup
7 Lesser Scaup
4 Gadwalls
1 American Bittern
1 Yellow-Billed Loon
15 American Kestrels (many hovering)
1 Bald Eagle
50 Brewers Blackbird
1 Rough-Legged Hawk
2 Rough-Winged Swallows
1 Chipping Sparrow
1 Savannah Sparrow
1 American Robin
11 Ring-Necked Ducks
