Sightings for November 27
The gray morph GYRFALCON has returned to the Marshall's Feedlot in Kelowna
(TF). The feedlot is along Hwy 97, at McCurdy Road.
Sightings for November 25
Seen from the Esplanade Trails near the Yacht Club in Penticton was a SWAMP
SPARROW and late HERMIT THRUSH on November 24 (LN).
Offshore from the Penticton Yacht Club were 8 RUDDY DUCKS (LN).
On the 23, a PINE GROSBEAK was heard at the Nickleplate Cross Country Ski
area W. of Penticton (LN).
On the 24, a "Myrtle" YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was reported in a residential
area along Cook Road in Kelowna (ED), while an "Audubon's" race
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was seen at the Rotary Marshes in Kelowna on the 23
(RT).
Sightings for November 23
In Vernon, the ad. ICELAND GULL continues at the mouth of Vernon Ck in the
Okanagan Landing area (CC).
Also in Vernon, a lone imm. SANDHILL CRANE continues in the field on the N.
side of Hwy 97 at the N. end of Swan Lake (CC).
Nine GRAY PARTRIDGE and 30 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were in the Desert Cove
community near the Head of the Lake, in Vernon (CC).
Ad. NORTHERN SHRIKES were noted along Commonage Road, near Vernon, at
Predator Ridge Golf Course and along Highland Rd at the N. end of Swan Lake,
also in Vernon (CC).
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS were along Bailey Road, on the Vernon Commonage, near
Bailey Pond, and along Old Vernon Road near the Kelowna Airport (CC).
An adult GOLDEN EAGLE and a second year BALD EAGLE were startled along the
E. shore of Rose's Pond, on the Vernon Commonage, as they fed on a deer
carcass (CC).
A hike through the tree farm on Bench Row Rd, on the Vernon Commonage,
produced a BARRED OWL (CC).
In Kelowna, an imm. GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE was with CANADA GEESE,
feeding in fields along Cornish Road (CC).
