Hi everybody, Happy Thanksgiving!

Late this a.m. I grabbed my bins and scope for a little pre-feast birding,
heading out to the end of Phinney Bay on Phinney Bay Drive in Bremerton,
which is only a few minutes by car from my place. What a treat! There
weren't great numbers of birds, but there was a nice variety (in no special
order):

Hooded Merganser
Mallard
Scaup sp.
Gull sp.
Surf Scoter
White-winged Scoter
Western Grebe
Horned Grebe
Double-crested cormorant
Bufflehead
Canada Goose

Marbled Murrelet - didn't realize they'd come this far inland from the
ocean/straits, will have to check out this bay to see if there are anymore
(saw only one, and from a distance, so...)

Greater Yellowlegs - was really surprised to see this bird

Steller's Jay
Bewick's Wren
American Crow
American Robin
Pileated Woodpecker (heard only)
Northern Flicker
