Hello All,
On the 29th
MerryLynn and I spent a few hours birding the Hood Park area and Burbank Heights as opposed to Burbank Pits. We did locate some interesting species. See the following list.
Hermit Thrush.......5 birds
Sharp-shinned Hawk.......3 birds
Northern Goshawk..........1 HY sub-adult bird. Unexpected in this area.
Varied Thrush.........2 birds
Bewicks Wren........6 Birds
Merlin.....................1 bird
N. Flicker................14 birds
Yellow-rumped Warbler... 27 birds
Am. Robin...............65+ birds

Also located two 18-20 year old guys in this wild area hunting song birds with high powered sling shots. They were just out to see if they could hit them. I convinced them that they needed to leave quickly.

In Burbank Heights we located a nice flock of BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS numbering 24 birds. Hope all had a great Thanksgiving and are ready for the CBC season!
Later Mike
