Hi Tweets,

After a morning of helping with bird banding on the Columbia NWR I went out
in search of plovers. These seem to be my nemesis bird in Grant County.
Despite much searching no Black-bellied or American Golden-Plover could be
found. During the searching though, several nice birds were located.

Pacific Loon - 1 located on Potholes Reservoir directly across from the boat
launch on the east end of the dam. After taking several digiscope pics I
went to the north side of the reservoir to see if I could get closer. Of
course, the bird swam back to the side I had just come from.

Common Tern - 1 located at the mouth of Frenchman's Wasteway. This is best
accessed from Potholes State Park.

Bonaparte's Gull - 11 located at the mouth of Frenchman's Wasteway.

Stilt Sandpiper - 2 at Lind Coulee amongst all of the dowitchers.

House Wren - 1 at Potholes State Park. This seems a little late for this
species. Input on this would be welcome.

Pectoral Sandpiper - 49 with some in every location checked. Careful scoping
revealed no Sharp-tails.

Good Birding
