Greetings

Thanks to Joe and Carolyn Corvino for a fun post.

As a point of note, the Sharp-tailed will almost certainly not die in Walla
Walla, unless some raptor gets to it. What happens to the Sharp-taileds that
arrive in WA is entirely unclear. There is some reason to think that coastal
birds may re-orient and head to their Australian wintering grounds (remember,
shorebirds are capable of virtually unimagineable non-stop trips). It seems less
likely that birds from the interior do so. In any case, it will probably
continue migrating and may end up in South America along with its Pectoral
compatriots.

Cheers
